I saw this on Kos and thought, damn fine argument:
The question becomes: can organized, activist nurses force a major healthcare chain to make significant improvements in patient care and patient safety?
The question should be:
when will major health care chains listen to their health care professionals when it comes to patient care?
Read the entire piece here. Better yet, read all about it! http://www.calnurses.org/media-center/press-releases/2007/october/page.jsp?itemID=32292000
The strike issues for Sutter RNs are:
- Patient care protections at Sutter hospitals
- Reductions in health care coverage and retirement security for Sutter RNs
- Sutter proposals to eliminate essential patient care services in Bay Area communities
